My Style Evolution

Sometimes I just love to go through old blog posts and reminisce. It’s like a trip back in time of my life over the last 5 years.  I was recently looking through old photos and thought my style evolution would be fun to share with you all. There have definitely been some high and low points. One thing is for sure- my style has always had some key elements: bold, fun, and feminine.

Over the year’s it’s become less mainstream as I take more and more risk with my style.  I constantly want to push myself and step outside my comfort zone to create unique looks.  One perfect example of this is that I’m no longer afraid of sexier outfits as I once was. Part of this may have been due to an ex that wasn’t supportive of revealing outfits and another part due to me not being comfortable wearing sexy clothes. Well one thing is for sure- that’s no longer an issue as my self confidence grows.  Take this look above- I rocked this dress in Las Vegas last year.  I love how clothes can make you feel.  As soon as I put this dress on I felt strong, confident and sexy.

I went through the blog and picked out a few throwbacks from over the years. Any items on here you want to see on the blog again let me know in the comments below! Enjoy!

The DIY Feather Blazer. Still one of my favorite do-it-yourself projects off all time. I remember seeing the $500 Milly version and thinking that was a crazy price for something I could make myself. So I did.

First outfit post ever circa. My mom took this for me on my iphone 4.  Not too bad. It could have been worse, right?

Definitely something I would still wear today. But perhaps with a few less bright colors and a few more neutrals? See the full blog post HERE.

Not sure why this photo of my horse and I in our Halloween costume made it on to my blog? Definitely a different side of my life.

November 2014

The look that got me my first magazine feature in People Style Watch! I used to be a bit more obsessed with full skirts, but I’d totally still rock this today.

Still my most physically revealing post I’ve ever done, but also one of my favorite creatively. Hitting publish on this was a bit nerve racking for fear of showing too much. But looking at it now I am really proud of it.  I took a chance and stepped outside my comfort zone.

My first black and white photo shoot with Tony. The photos came out so beautifully. I think it’s time for another shoot like this!

Hope you enjoyed this little flashback in time.

Laura
