I remember as a child my mom would take us shopping for new clothes before the start of a new school year. It should have been apparent to me then just how much I loved fashion because those were always some of my favorite days as a child.

I would run around the store grabbing everything I thought was decently cute (as a pre-teen) and spend hours in the fitting room with my little sister and my mom trying on TONS of clothes. Eventually I would walk out with my 10 favorite items and watch with glee as the cashier rung everything up and stuffed into bags that I would then try and carry out to the car proudly all by myself.

Those first few months of school I remember feeling so cool walking down the hall in my new duds. I wish I could show you the outfits I would put together. I had an affinity for loud prints, funky shoes, and bright colors. I guess not much has changed since then.

My mom would always take us to JCPenney.  We could find everything there: shoes, bags, jeans, tops, you name it! The prices have always been great and my mom was not about to spend a ton of money on clothes we would eventually grow out of.

It boggled my mind to learn recently that 95 million Americans will just walk by a penny.  Funny enough, 9 out of 10 still keep pennies in their homes – myself included. Every penny I find goes into a coin bank nick-named my “shoe fund.”

To remind us just how far a Penny can go… JCPenney is launching “Penney Days,” a promotional offering that will make select items available for…you guessed it… just a penny! From now until March 5, you can purchase an apparel item from The Original Arizona Jean Co. brand and get a second Arizona item for just a penny either in store and on But only while supplies lasts. If you miss this one, don’t worry, there will be more Penney Days through out the year!
