Guest Bedroom Decor Ideas

I bought this home 2 and a half years ago (read all about that here) and today is the first day I am revealing a completely decorated view of my guest room! During the last two years, this guest bedroom has been a storage room, an office, and a pile-up room. Now it is a fully finished guest bedroom. One that I am proud to offer to our guests.

The design for this room was inspired by serenity. Because it doubles as my home office, I needed a space I could enter and immediately feel relaxed. I chose a calming neutral color palette with pieces I have had for years with a few vintage furniture items sprinkled in. The handpainted dresser is one of these pieces. Both this dresser and the gold guided painting on the wall were purchased at one of my vintage stores in downtown San Pedro.

One of the biggest transformations to my house in the last year was the installation of Everhome luxe vinyl flooring over my original hardwood floors. Read more about the Everhome luxe vinyl flooring and installation here.

This room is only 10 feet x 11 feet so optimizing the space was a priority. I chose a velvet bedframe in a calming beige with complimenting neutral colors so that no area of the space took more attention away from the space as a whole. The bedroom desk (similar here) blends into the corner with minimal accessories to avoid looking overcrowded. The pink closet door was a fun DIY project. I wanted to add a fun feminine element to the room. I chose the paint color Pink Quartz by Behr paints in a satin sheen.

You’ll notice lots of photos framed in this room. These were all ordered from FreePrints. A service that prints and ships your beloved memories right from your phone to your home. I’ve been using the FreePrints App for years to print my photos and decided to add some 8×10 photos to these gold frames.
