Christmas is my absolute time of year and here’s why: the air is filled with excitement, people are doing more good deeds for each other, families come together, dressing up is totally acceptable, and I get to watch Home Alone while making Christmas cookies. One of my New Year’s resolutions at the end of 2016 was to do a good deed for someone each day. I’ve stood true to that and this holiday season I want to go above and beyond just one good deed a day.

Did you know that the Tuesday after Thanksgiving is #GivingTuesday? A chance for us to give back and help others through the gift of our time, donations, goods and/or voice.  GivingTuesday.org has even created a directory to help you find organizations, charities, events and more in your own community. I started this blog to inspire you all to follow your passions and elevate your style.  I would also like to use my blog by helping bring awareness to people who need a voice.

This year, instead of purchasing gifts for me, I am asking my friends and family to instead donate to my fundraiser for No Kid Hungry because no child should have to go without a meal. Did you know that for every $10 you raise can feed a child up to 100 meals?! My goal is to raise $500 by Christmas. So I am asking all of you, my darling readers, to help raise money that will provide food for a child this holiday season. You can find my fundraising page here.

Interested in starting your own fundraiser? This organization offers multiple ways you can fundraise. Check out the list of options here.

And now for the outfit, I chose for today’s post…

I had bought this striped dress over the summer and only wore it once here. After that, I never really found a reason to wear it and wondered why I had spent the money on a striped when I never really liked stripes. Well, our tastes in clothes certainly do change because recently I tried it on and fell in love with it. This exact dress is no longer available, but I was able to round up quite a few other striped dresses that I adore.

Lastly, I’ve raved about this bell sleeve coat (last seen here.) It’s still available! Trust me when I say that you will find one million occasions to wear this jacket. It also comes in blush pink!

This is my second 12 Days of Holiday Style look. You can see the first one I published here and get ready for 10 more looks to come! I’ve included a tab in the top menu for you to see all of my holiday looks including looks from the past 4 years!

And don’t forget to enter my Nordstrom giveaway where you can win a $250 gift card just by following me on Pinterest.

xoxo,

Laura

  1. This is such a generous way of helping others specially a child as a mom of four kids I always procure for my children to have something to eat every day. I cannot imagine a child going to bed with an empty stomach. So thank you so much for this cause .God bless you.
