Essential Travel Skincare Products

Essential Skincare Travel Products by Travel Blogger Laura Lily: image of straw sun hat, sunglasses, gold earrings, and various travel skincare products.

There are a few products that, no matter where I go in the world, I never leave home without. These are tried and tested travel skincare products that work in hot or cold temperatures and keep my skin, hair, and lips looking their best. Even after long travel days and unexpected weather conditions.

Essential Travel Skincare Products

Clarins Double Serum: Serum is always a must for me and this one both nourishes and protects against anti-aging.  I apply it morning and night after washing my face. Then I wait a few minutes and, depending on how much of it my skin soaks up, I apply another layer for extra moisture.

Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil: Another must-have travel skincare product, especially in dry climates or places where my skin suffers a bit of wind burn (ski slopes + windy cities.) It is also very lightweight and perfect over my serum, and under my moisturizer and makeup. I’ll also use this to apply to my cuticles overnight.

EltaMD UV Sport and UV Clear Broad Spectrum Sunscreen: Rain, shine or snow, my daily skincare regime always consists of EltaMD UV oil-free sunscreen. They are a favorite brand of mine because their products are never greasy or irritating. They are perfect for sensitive skin allowing me to apply no matter what kind of mood my skin is in. It’s the #1 Dermatologist recommended sunscreen because it helps calm and protect sensitive skin types prone to acne, rosacea and discoloration.  You can read about why I am so obsessed with sunscreen in this post and my anti-aging routine here.

ChapStick Total Hydration Tinted + 100% Natural Lip Butter: My lip hydration is all thanks to ChapStick. I keep multiple sticks in my bag, suitcase and makeup bag so that I don’t have to go searching for it. The tinted version is perfect for when I want a bit of lip color, without losing the extra hydration. It is also important to drink a lot of water while you travel to help prevent dehydrated lips.

L’Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream: Hands down the best hand cream out there. With 20% shea butter concentrate, it goes on buttery soft and is great for nourishing dry skin.  It helps keep my hands from becoming too dry and rough while I’m traveling. I keep this close by to re-apply every time after I wash my hands. Then at night I’ll apply a generous amount for my hands to enjoy while I sleep. L’Occitane also makes this hand cream in a 1.oz travel size perfect for tossing in your day bag.

Vita Liberata Phenomenal Organic Tan Infused ClothsI used to carry an entire bottle of tanning solution with me. But thanks to these biodegradable cloth wipes infused with Vita Liberata’s Phenomenal tanning solution, I don’t have to do that anymore. Just a quick swipe all over my body, wash my hands, and I’m ready to head out the door and let the color develop over the next few hours. I’ve always been a fan of Vita’s tanning products because they don’t leave a strange odor on your skin, the solution is always nourishing, even for my dry skin, and my tan always looks natural.

COOLA SPF 30 Face Makeup Setting Spray: This is a product that I recently discovered and cannot get enough of! Think of it like hairspray for your makeup. It’s 70% organic, infused with hyaluronic acid to refresh your skin and you’ll never even know you have it on-no sticky feelings.  It will keep it in place AND provide SPF protection. 2-in-1. I’ll apply this multiple times a day. And also important to mention that it’s part of the Clean at Sephora™ product line which is a collection of the best natural, organic and vegan beauty options for your skin.

L’Oréal Elvive Total Repair Leave-In Conditioner Treatment and Heat Protectant: My hair products vary depending on the type of climate I am traveling to. But one thing that always remains the same is that my hair needs some TLC on every trip. Once every 2 days or so I’ll apply this to hair freshly washed hair to revive it. It’s also good for defrizzing hair. I’ll apply a drop to sleek back my ponytail or nourish my ends.
