Best Anti Aging Skin Care Products for Women in their 30’s

Anti-Aging everything has been on my mind more and more as I’ve gotten older. I am currently 30 and although I was blessed with my mom’s fair skin, it quickly shows sunspots and aging. I’ve done my best to keep my face shaded from the sun over the years and constantly make sure to apply a daily SPF lotion like this one here.

Sometimes we need an extra bit of help to keep the signs of aging at bay. I recently sat down with Dr. Stoker, a board-certified plastic surgeon, to go over the best preventative measures for women in their 30’s. His office is also where I received my first BOTOX injections which you can read more about in this post.

I explained to him that I both wanted to prevent further signs of aging and try to reduce the dark spots that had developed over the years. Dr. Stoker recommended a few anti aging skin care products from his own skincare line for me to use on a daily basis to help lessen the appearance of discoloration and fine line/wrinkle prevention. I combined a few of his products with my own personal favorites for a daily regime that I have been using for the last month.  I’ve noticed the dark sunspots around my eyes and forehead fade. I’ve also noticed my skin has better moisture retention than it did one month ago.

One of Dr. Stoker’s estheticians, Natalie also recommended I only splash my face in the morning with water, not use a facial cleanser until the evening. This allows my skin to keep a bit more oil on the skin instead of washing it away with a cleanser.  If I’ve been wearing makeup I make sure to remove as much as possible with a makeup wipe, my Clarisonic brush.

Here are the morning and nighttime routines I have been using for my face, including the best anti-aging skin care products:

Nighttime Routine:

  1. Cleanse face with dDermalogica Essential Cleansing Solution
  2. Wipe face and décolletage with a StokerX Brighten Pigment Corrector pad
  3. Apply eye cream
  4. Apply StokerX Advanced Retinol Serum 10x
  5. Apply StokerX Needle-Free Serum and let soak in for 30 seconds or so
  6. Apply nightly skincare mask such as this one from REN Skincare

Morning Routine:

  1. Splash face with cold water
  2. Wipe face and décolletage with StokeRX Brighten Pigment Corrector pad
  3. Apply eye cream
  4. Apply StokerX Needle-Free Serum and let soak in for 30 seconds or so
  5. Apply Dermalogica biolumin-c serum and allow to soak in
  6. Apply EltaMD daily sunscreen

Here are the before and after photos taken exactly 30 days apart. The photo on the left is before I started using these products, and the photo on the right is 30 days later.  No editing on either one. I was simply standing in front of a window. The photo on the right I have a bit of mascara on, but that was the only difference. . You can see that my skin appears to have a bit of redness and uneven skin tone in the first photo on the left. The second photo my skin appears to have a much more even tone. Disclaimer* I was breaking out a bit worse in the photo on the left due to hormones and the birth control I was on. Luckily that cleared right up a few weeks later once I started a new birth control pill.

Overall I think my skin in the photo on the right looks less tired and more refreshed. What do you think?

More about the Best Anti Aging Skin Care Products for Women in their 30’s:

Stoker RX Brighten Pigment Corrector pads: I use one of these pads in the morning and evening to help prevent and lighten dark spots on my face and décollage. The pads are soaked in a formula containing kojic acid, arubutin, and emblica. These lightning agents that work to reduce dark spots. Fun fact, kojic acid is a by-product in the fermentation process of malting rice. It works as a lightening agent.

StokerX Advanced Retinol  Serum 10x: I have had a sensitivity to retinol products in the past and am pleased to say I did not have any adverse reactions to this product. Dr. Stoker recommends to start off with a retinol before moving up to a Retin-A.  These products increase the skin cell turnover and help to achieve smoother and more evenly toned skin.  This serum can reverse fine lines and wrinkles and slow down the progression of more fine lines. It’s enhanced with a time-releasing delivery system along with the antioxidant benefits of 90% Green Tea Polyphenols and Caffeine USP to help prevent irritation while efficiently delivering results. To use, apply a thin layer over the face and neck at night before applying serums and face creams.

StokerX Needle Free Serum: This little bottle is a godsend of hydration for my skin.  It’s one of my absolute favorite products to apply to my face because it instantly delivers a ton of hydration to my skin. My face has a nice glow after I put this on. If fights against signs of aging and improves fine line and wrinkles through an advanced formula that contains a powerful proline lysine copper complex, Hyaluronic Acid, and Niacinamide. It reactivates collagen and elastin synthesis. Two weeks of use is equivalent to one injection collagen filler.

dermalogica biolumin-c serum: I get most people only use one serum, but I like to use two to get the benefits of both and to add an extra layer of hydration before applying my moisturizer. Dermalogica’s biolumin- vitamin C serum works to brighten and firm skin. The formula’s advanced bio-technology fuses ultra-stable vitamin C and palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, which helps to dramatically reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Although other formulas may have higher concentrations of vitamin c, dermalogica’s formula outperforms them due to it’s advanced technology designed to deliver even more vitamin c to the skin. Other key ingredients include: vitamin C complex for brighter, firmer, more radiant skin, lactic acid accelerates cell turnover, sophora japonica flower extract helps return skin to a calm state after experiencing oxidative stress, and salvia hispanica (chia seed) oil is used to hydrate and help quench free radicals.

EltaMD Broad Spectrum SPF 46: I wrote about using a daily sunscreen not too long ago in this post.  No matter the time of year or even the time of day, I always, ALWAYS make sure to apply an SPF moisturizer before leaving the house. If I am wearing it to the gym or under makeup I use the clear formula. EltaMD UV Clear is fragrance-free, oil-free, paraben-free, sensitivity-free and noncomedogenic. If I want a little more even complexion, but don’t want to wear makeup, I’ll put on the tinted formula. This sunscreen is also great for skin types prone to acne, rosacea and hyperpigmentation. It provides UVA and UVB protection, has 5% high purity niacinamide. Plus it calms and protects acne-prone skin and the oil-free, lightweight formula leaves no residue!!

Just to note… Dr. Stoker’s line of products contains a higher potency of active ingredients than brands you would normally buy at a beauty counter or drugstore. Because of this, these anti-aging skin care products are only available through his office. I was glad I got the chance to sit down with a plastic surgeon like Dr. Stoker and discuss my options. You can call their office to set up an appointment to go over your own anti-aging options. Remember that prevention and maintenance begins with understanding your options and taking preventative measures!

Check out my one on one interview with Dr. Stoker video here.

As always, thank you for reading!

Laura

    1. Hi Maggie,
Sunscreen is still a must at any age. Elta MD also has a lot of great skincare products including face wash and creams. Another brand I love it Dermalogica. They have some great masks, their Phyto-nature firming serum is amazing, along with their replenishing oil!
