2018 Goals

Laura Lily 12 Days of Holiday Style, Naught and Nice, Temptu Air, Everpretty Art Deco Dress, Everpretty velvet slit dress, holiday dresses,

2017 was full of wonderful memories and surprises. I would be lying if I didn’t admit to it being my best year yet. However, being the ambitious person that I am, I am always looking for ways I can improve my life.   So I’ve decided to make my goals for 2018  simple and straightforward:

1. Keeping a Postive Mindset

We are our own worst critics. I am constantly bashing myself for not working hard enough, not putting enough hours in, being afraid things will not turn out as they should. My sister always tells me to “Trust the timing of your life.” This year I am going to try my hardest to keep a positive mindset each and every day.

2. Stay in my own lane.

Too often I am guilty of looking around at others and not focusing enough on myself and my business. We all do this, I know. But in order for me to grow and thrive instead of compare, I need stay in my own lane and focus on what I can control.

3. Listen

I talk to much. This year I am going to listen more.

4. Meditate Daily

I get so overwhelmed with work and the constant buzz of information around me (social media, advertisements, what other people are doing, what I am not, etc.)  I keep hearing that daily meditation is incredibly effective at clearing the mind. So I am going to start TODAY. Do any of you meditate and if so, do you have any tips for me? I’ve heard the app HeadSpace is a good one.

5. Increase my Workout

Last December I signed up for a year’s worth of sessions with a person trailer at LA Fitness. It was one of the best investments I’ve ever made in myself. My body image and confidence has dramatically changed for the better. I won’t lie and tell you that I love going to the gym. LOL Heck no. But the way I feel while I am there and after I leave is amazing. Clear mind, motivated, less stressed. It’s such a great feeling.

6. Do a little more each day

I have a procrastination problem. I always have. This year I am going to try and do little more each day on big projects that I have to tackle so that they do not seem so overwhelming. I also want to put a little more into my business each day because it is, after all, an investment in my future.

7. Travel More

Over the year’s I’ve made too many excuses and missed out on visiting the places I wanted to: Vermont, Paris, Cuba, etc. This year no excuses. If I want to go somewhere I am going to make it happen.

8. Minimalize

AKA shop less. I have been so overwhelmed with the number of boxes of unused stuff in my house and it is affecting my ability to focus. I feel anxious just looking at the pile of stuff I keep telling myself I have room for but actually do not. I want to clear my house of anything that does not bring me joy (or usefulness.) I am selling and donating items I no longer wear, want or have a use for. You can get your hands on a few of the items via my Poshmark account.

9. Simple Act of Kindness Each Day

It feels so good to give back and just a little bit of kindness goes a long way. You never know what kind of day someone is having. Just a simple smile, holding the door open, stopping to ask if they need help, can change their outlook on life and make their day a little better.
