It seems like only yesterday I was in New York for Fashion Week. My how time has flown. Each time I’ve been to New York I’ve stayed at a different hotel. Eventually, I figure I would find one that would be my home away from home. I think I found it – The Roger Hotel. It is a chic boutique hotel right on the corner of Madison and 5th in the Gramercy district.

I prefer smaller boutique hotels over massive chains because I honestly feel that the service you receive is much better. Instead of being one of 1000’s of guests staying at the hotel you’re maybe one of a few hundred. There are so many hotel options in New York City that it can be exhausting trying to find one that suits you. A friend of mine recommended this hotel to me and I am really glad she did. You walk into the lobby and immediately see lots of character and gorgeous interior design.  The moment I saw the velvet couches and gold trimmed tables  in the photos I was screamed: “this is where I am meant to stay!”

My friend and I shared a corner king premier room on the fourth floor which is a good size room for a NYC hotel.  Remember- everything in New York City is tiny. Hotel rooms in NYC are commonly referred to as “shoe boxes” so the fact that I had plenty of space in the room and the bathroom was perfect. The closet was a bit small to share, but we managed. I wonder if there was an option of having a rolling rack for future fashion weeks. I did not ask this time around.  They also have penthouse suites with views of Madison Avenue from their private balconies. These were sold out by the time we booked our stay 😉

During the week, Monday-Friday about 5-7pm, the hotel bar serves wine samples in the lobby.  The server may just fill up your glass if you leave him a nice tip (wink, wink.) The bar also has a happy hour so there are plenty of new friends to be made in the lobby. The doormen are really sweet and have plenty of recommendations for you.

We did not order room service on this trip (gasp! I know!) But we did make our way down to the restaurant for a yummy buffet style breakfast.  We had to get going soon, so instead of waiting to be seated, they let us grab plates and bring everything to our room. The breakfast is $30 a person – not bad at all for the quality of food, portions, and convenience of being right in your hotel.

There are also a lot of food options around the hotel. The Italian place right across the street has a lot of to-go options and their pizza is bomb.com. There is also a salad restaurant right next to the pizza place. Good luck resisting the smell of pizza in the air on your way to eat healthily!

On our last day, the girls and I got to hang out and it was a blast. It’s always a good time when they are around. Which I am sure you can tell from how hard I’m laughing in the photos caught of together. Never a dull moment with those two.

Hopefully, this recap and other hotel reviews I write help you in your decisions about where to stay when traveling a bit easier. This post isn’t sponsored and if you have any questions I am more than happy to answer them! First one being- would I stay at the Roger again? Absolutely 🙂

Thanks to the Roger New York Hotel for a wonderful stay!
