Over labor day weekend I had the pleasure of enjoying a little stay-cation at the Marina Del Rey Hotel. It is a gem of a hotel tucked away right on the water. When Tony and I arrived and walked into our room I was immediately drawn to our view. It looked right out on to the beautiful glistening marina. Sail boats quietly passed by on the water. It was beautiful and immediately put me at peace despite all the Fashion Week crazy that was about to hit us.

We spent the first few hours enjoying the Sunday Funday pool party. It was like a Vegas pool party only much less crowded, better food, better drinks, a live DJ and a pleasant cool breeze that swept in from the marina.  I loved it and already know I want to host my birthday party at here next year.  What’s neat is that you do not have to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy their Sunday Funday. They have tickets available here and you can even reserve chairs.

Once the sun started to set we changed and grabbed some beach cruisers from the hotel. Bloggers always want pretty bikes for photos and these were the prettiest bikes I’ve seen. We rode along the marina as the sun started to set. It was such a beautiful view! And a complete serene experience. I am used to riding mountain bikes with brakes on the handle bars so it was amazing that I did not kill myself on a beach cruiser which you stop with your pedals. I may have run into a fence a few times though.  It was quite funny watching Tony try to manage steering a bike while taking photos at the same time. I give him props for being able to do both at the same time because it did not look easy!

After the bike ride we enjoyed dinner and dessert at S.A.L.T.  You have the option of sitting inside or outside. We choose outside and they handed me a big cozy blanket to keep my legs warm. Tony ordered the salmon and I the ravioli. Both divine! You know me- I cannot resist my sweet tooth when I saw the smore dessert option on the menu I did not need to look any further. It was definitely a highlight and a pretty sight to see.  After dinner we ordered a bottle of wine to the room and just relaxed.  Tony had some fun taking the cool night shots you see here with the lights reflecting off the water.

The next morning we ordered room service (always one of my favorite things.) It was such a treat getting to sit right on the balcony in my bathrobe sipping my morning coffee and enjoying an omelette with a view of the marina. We laid by the pool for a few more hours before checkout and ordered a light lunch. (The oatmeal from the brunch menu is also super yummy and healthy!) It was hard to leave. I could have stayed a few more days with all the beautiful views and delicious food.

Thank you to the Marina Del Rey Hotel for having us and the wonderful staff who made our stay-cation so pleasant. Cannot wait to visit again soon!

xoxo,
Laura
