Hello my lovely Lilies! New month means a new beauty review! This month I introduce you to the brand Skinny Skinny known for their organic and sustainable bath, body and home products.  Do you ever sit and wonder what is actually in your beauty products? To be honest, I do not, and the thought scares me a bit. But if and when I find organic products, I am happy to purchase them and compare to my normal purchases.

The founder, Clara Williams, started out by making homemade skin care prodcuts for her mom (how sweet!) Her company now creates cruelty-free, products with high-quality organic ingredients, and eco-friendly business practives. Even the packaging is eco-friendly. All of the company’s containers and labels are either recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable and wind-power is used for the manufacturing and retail facilities!

Curious about the name? Skinny Skinny comes from her skin care line born in NY. Skin NY= Skinny.

Lavender Organic Body Butter-Normally I do not wear scented lotion on my skin. I do this to avoid any scents competeing with my perfume and it is often recommended to use non-scented lotions for sensitive skin. I applied the body butter and immediately noticed two things- a relaxing lavender scent and a beautiful glow to my skin.  The butter is really thick so you do not need to apply as much as you would with lotion and it is not greasy!

Organic Body Scub-  Skinny Skinny has a variety of body scrubs. I tried the basil & mint combination and the oil left my skin feeling lovely. The directions say to apply to skin, rub in circular motion and then rinse off. I actually used it while in the shower. Next time I might try it with dry skin and then rinse off. *Read the warning on the back for use on sensitive skin and avoid any particular sensitive areas.organic skin care, travel size dry shampoo, the best organic beauty products, laura lily beauty blogger, los angeles beauty blogger, organic skin care, skinny skinny skin care review,

Dry Shampoo– I recently did a review on a few other dry shampoo brands so I was interested to try Skinny Skinny’s version. The scene of the black pepper and rose formula is just like the description says, a bit “spicy with a nice amount of floral- perfect for men and women.”  I couldn’t smell it after I put it in my hair.   Personally, I still prefer a spray (aerosol spray- I know bad) because the production distributes more evenly. This one is a great eco-friendly version and perfect for traveling. I did not notice much of a change in texture of my hair, just that it felt a bit heavier, but this is usually normal with putting any product in your hair.
*Remember that any dry shampoo in a white powder form can show residue. Make sure to brush your hair thoroughly after applying or mix the powder with brown eye shadow to avoid having white dust in your hair.

Interesting products like these are always great gift ideas. Who doesn’t like to pamper themselves?! Not sure which products to get? Not a problem, just get a gift certificate! Thank you Skinny Skinny for allowing me to review your products.  Readers please know I only give my honest opinion on products I try to give you a better idea what to expect.
