Best Hair Products for Long Hair

I LOVE having long hair, but I don’t like to fuss with it too much. My hair is naturally curly and a bit on the finer side so it gets weighed down if I use too many products and dries out if I use too many heat styling tools. I like to wear my hair with a blowout and more wavy. (I’m still not sure how to style my natural curls.) Over the years, I’ve gotten my haircare routine down to just a few favorite products that I wanted to share with you today because I really feel they work wonders. So here it goes, the best hair care products for long hair…

After I get out of the shower, I like to let my hair air dry a bit before using a blow dryer. The less heat the better. Once my hair has had 30 minutes or so to air dry, I spray in the AMIKA Brookly Bombshell Blowout Volume Spray. It’s a lightweight, volumizing blowout spray with heat protection for massive, long-lasting volume, body, and texture.  You can also use it on dry hair, as a re-styler. It’s sulfate and phthalate free of artificial colors, petrochemicals, sodium chloride, and MCIT, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and safe for color-treated, Brazilian-treated, and keratin-treated hair!

If my blow-out isn’t fresh (a day or two old) I like to add a bit of texture with the AVEDA Texture Tonic spray.  It enhances the natural texture of your hair and helps create that looks effortlessly undone look. The ingredients of the tonic are 94% naturally derived! The salt (magnesium sulfate) helps contract and compress hair, instantly creating piecey, defined texture. Cane sugar is a natural humectant that helps provide a soft, touchable texture infused with a natural shine and the ingredient babassu helps create effortless texture.

The Aveda Texture Tonic is also Free from:
Parabens
Mineral Oil
Petrolatum
Formaldehyde
Animal Ingredients
Synthetic Fragrance
*Aveda is a cruelty-free brand. They do not conduct animal testing.

And of course, every Aveda’s product has a special pure-fume aroma with certified organic ginger, ylang ylang, clary sage and other pure flower and plant essences. You know the scent I’m talking about. The one that instantly makes you feel like you’re in an Aveda salon!

Now I’m lucky that I don’t have to wash my hair every day. Maybe every 3-4 days depending on how much I work out, the amount of product in my hair, etc. I’ve tried a million (okay more like 20) dry shampoo products and my favorite is the BB. Pret-a-Powder Tres Invisible Dry Shampoo. It’s a 2-in-1 style extender that cleanses and adds volume from your roots to ends. This dry shampoo goes on clear and leaves zero residues!  There’s nothing worse than having a bunch of white chalky substance in your hair. The BB dry shampoo is also UV Protective which means it protects against the drying effects of the sun.  This product is not tested on animals and it is a 2018 Glamour Glamour Beauty Award winner.

Last, but not least, to finish off any type of hairstyle, whether it is a fresh blowout or a 3-day old beach wave look, I love to spray a bit of diptyque paris Satin Oil for body and hair. This is a dry oil and non-greasy. The scent is a mixture of jasmine, ylang-ylang, and saffron. I like to spray a few spritz in my hair to nourish it, give it shine and a lovely smell. I also spray it on my skin for a satiny, smooth finish. When I have this on I don’t even bother wearing perfume.

If you’d like to add little fun accessories to your hair I love these Goody bobby pins in a contrasting color from my hair.  Be cautious about the products you choose for your hair care routine, as recent concerns have surfaced regarding the potential risks associated with certain hair relaxers, leading to cancer lawsuits. It’s crucial to stay informed about product ingredients and opt for those free from harmful substances. Prioritize your hair health and beauty by making informed choices and enjoying the benefits of a well-curated haircare routine.

As always, thank you for stopping by! If you have any hair products for long hair you love I’d love to hear about them!

xoxo,
Laura
