As an influencer, I am very fortunate to be able to try lots of different skincare products and brands. At any given time, I’ve got a few new skincare products that I’m testing out to see if they would be a good fit to share here on the blog with all of you. However, there are some skincare products that I come back to time and time again and in today’s post I’m sharing why they are so darn fabulous.
MY FAVORITE SKINCARE PRODUCTS FOR DAILY USE:
I discovered micellar cleansing water only last year and since then it has been my go-to for taking off makeup. In case you are wondering what the heck micellar water even is… it is made up of micelles, which are tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules, suspended in soft water. I used to use an oil makeup remover that would get in my eyes leaving my vision slightly and annoyingly blurred or leave an oily residue behind on my skin. Micellar water doesn’t do either of these.
Micellar water can be used as a facial wash, makeup remover and moisturizer all in one. I apply it on a cotton swab or a cotton ball to remove my makeup and love that it does not need to be rinsed off. Afterward, I’ll apply a facial serum, vitamin c, and my face lotion.
I like to use these cleansing towelettes when I am on the and these Burt’s Bees cleansing towelettes are always with me. They are a bit more compact than a bottle of micellar cleansing water and I don’t have to worry about liquid spilling all over the inside of my bag. Plus, it takes one towelette to take off my makeup at the end of the day versus a few cotton pads. I’ve tried other cleansing towelettes, but a lot of them have fragrances that irritate my skin. I can use these on my eyes, face, lips and don’t feel the need to rinse my face of the smell or product afterwards.
A makeup artist and I were talking about the toxic chemicals we put on our bodies daily and how over time these can really cause harm. Just read this article here talking about 7 toxins lurking in your deodorant. For example, the reason you don’t sweat with antiperspirants is that they contain aluminum. It’s a chemical that clogs pores and prevents sweating. Great! However, aluminum exposure has been linked to the development of Alzheimer’s disease and interferes with estrogen levels which can lead to a higher risk for breast and prostate cancer. Um, excuse me, but no thank you!
The makeup artist suggested a chemical-free deodorant made with all natural and organize ingredients called Fat and the Moon and I ordered it right off Amazon! It is baking soda free, aluminum free, paraben free, sulfate free, and cruelty-free sensitive pit cream. I’ve tried other natural organic deodorants in the past, but unfortunately, I developed an itchy rash due to the baking soda in them.
Applying the pit cream on your armpit with your fingers takes a little getting used. But it makes me feel good knowing I am not putting harmful chemicals directly on to sensitive sweat glans to be absorbed into my body. The interesting thing about pit cream is that you will sweat. Don’t worry, it’s natural! It just won’t stink!
The .5 oz tin is all you need and it’s the perfect travel size!
I wish I would have known about this product 10 years ago. Seriously it is my go-to daily facial moisturizer because not only does it moisturize my skin, but it protects it with Broad Spectrum 50SPF! It’s a medium weigh moisturizer that I wear daily to the gym, underneath my makeup and anytime I step outside. It has a Patented Oleosome encapsulation technology that boosts the sunscreen effectiveness for critical protection against UV rays, while a unique polypeptide helps encourage collagen-producing activities. Plus, it does not leave a white residue like some other SPF lotions.
In all honesty, it’s not the cheapest facial moisturizer. However, if you are going to invest in one thing for skin, have it be your facial moisturizer. The skin on our faces is so sensitive and deserves some TLC. Over the year’s my skin has developed some wrinkles and sunspots. What I wouldn’t give to tell my 20-year-old self to invest in some serious SPF and apply this daily for the last 10 years!
If you’re curious about a few other Dermalogica products I’ve shared a review on a few of them in this post.
This bottle of miracles is a clinically advanced, skin-brightening radiance-booster, anti-aging treatment essence, and skin-softening micellar cleanser—in one step. Plus, is good for all skin types (mine is dry and super sensitive.) It helps to relieve dryness, pores, dullness and uneven texture. I love to apply it with a cotton pad after I wash my face (you can also use it as a facial cleanser) and you don’t have to wash it off. It helps to increase absorbency and maximize the efficacy of my moisturizers and serums. SCORE! It is also free of parabens, sulfates and is cruelty-free!
The best time to apply your lotion for maximum hydration is directly after a shower when your pores are open and already hydrated from the water. So I actually apply my body lotion before I even step out of the shower and let the moisture escape. My go-to is the Curél Hydra Therapy lotion which is activated by water on freshly-showered skin and penetrates deeply into the surface to heal dryness. I use this every day in the shower and my skin instantly feels an extra level of hydration needed by dry & sensitive skin. There is no fragrance added, phthalate-free, sulfate-free, fluoride-free, dye-free, and aluminum-free.
I’ll be doing a few more beauty round ups like this coming up soon including the best skincare products for eczema, the best facial serums, and hair products I use daily. Let me know if there is anything, in particular, you’d like me to write more about!
