It is hard to grasp that Day 1 of New York Fashion Week was already a week ago and it is already over. You get all hyped up on adrenaline and excitement that times just goes by in a blur. That’s how it is for me anyway.
When it comes to what I wear each day of fashion week, I like to plan my outfits around which designers I will be seeing that day. For the first day, I chose a baby pink peplum skirt by BCBGMAXAZRIA. One of my all time favorite designers. (I am one click away from buying THIS CAPE. It is amazing!!!) I paired it with one my best vintage finds EVER- a hand beaded caplet from the 1950’s that I bought for $30. Hashtag #score and my seasoned Valentino Rockstud pumps. These shoes made their debut at Lincoln Center exactly 3 years ago.
The first show of the day was Nicolas K. I really liked the set up of this runway. We got to see the models for a longer period of time and the seating was not as crazy as it is in the larger theaters. This collection was definitely safari inspired with splashes of pony hair accessories. Next was the BCBG show. I loved the flowing pastel dresses with perfectly tied bows.
Safari inspired at the Nicholas K runway show.
