Vince Camuto Winter Coat, How to Stay Warm and Look cute, Laura Lily Fashion Blog, Chicago Fairmont,As I was packing for my recent trips to snowy places, I noticed I had much more trouble putting together fashionable outfits than any of my tropical getaways. How on earth does one look cute when it’s freezing?! I asked my self.  After two trips in the snow (Sequoia and Chicago) I can confidently tell you just how I did it…

Winter Accessories

Have fun with your accessories!! Invest in faux fur earmuffs, pretty scarves and cozy mittens. We lose 30% of our body heat through our heads so keeping at least your ears covered at a minimum is essential! I like to wear hats, head bands, or ear muffs. Don’t forget about hooded jackets, too! Especially in windy cities.

Layer, Layer, Layer!

I also learned that wool is warmer than cotton clothing and can help keep you dry. I don’t like bulky layers, but I am willing to spend the money for lighter more insulated tops and pants to keep the heat in. I’ll even wear tights or long underwear . If I really want to wear a dress in the dead of winter (hey it happens sometimes) I’ll opt for two layers of tights to keep insulated! You can even wear a pair of nude tights underneath a netted pair.

Hand + Foot Warmers

These little guys help keep my fingers and toes from going numb in the cold. Plus, they last for 5+ hours! I’ll toss some in my jacket pockets or stick them to my socks before I put my boots on. I wore when we explored the Sequoia forest and was so happy I had them.

Carry An It Bag

No one may see your fabulous outfit under all those layers. But what they will see is your fabulous handbag! This studded Givenchy beauty was a recent find on Trendlee. It was the perfect size for touring around the city and the color matched everything. Just make sure whatever bag you decide to carry can handle a bit of rain or snow! You don’t want little raindrops ruining your suede handbag.

Add Some Color

It is easy to get lost in the sea of black jackets in the winter time. That is why I like to add some color into my look with a copper colored jacket like this one.

I hope you all can stay warm and look fashionable on your next winter getaway! Don’t miss my latest giveaway! Enter to win HERE.

xoxo,
Laura
