Father’s Day

Dad

This Father’s Day, instead of creating a list of gifts to get your dad, I thought I’d take a different approach. If you have been following me for a while and read my 10 Secrets About Me post, then you know the my dad is no longer around for me to celebrate Father’s Day with. But that does not mean he isn’t celebrated. I think of him every single day. Every holiday I would give anything to celebrate with him just one more time. His favorite holiday was Thanksgiving because it revolved around being thankful and spending time with family. Not gifts or material things.

Every Father’s Day, I would make him a card and spend the day with him doing something he loved to do. Now, I spend this and every holiday reflecting on all our memories together. I think of all the things he taught me and how he gave me the best gift I could have ever asked for- he taught me how to love.  Because without love, our world just wouldn’t be the same.

Instead of buying a gift for your dad this year, I encourage you to just spend time with him. Make him a card, tell him how much you appreciate him and give him a big hug or a thoughtful phone call. He’ll love it. I promise.

Love you Dadio. Thank you for teaching me to love, give, and laugh.

xoxo,

Your little girl
