Fall is just around the corner. Literally, the first day of fall is two days away! So I am sure many of you are wondering how to transition your wardrobe for fall. Especially if your weather is like ours here in Southern California – still 80 degrees. So how do you incorporate fall style into your clothes without having to wear big sweaters and tall leather boots? Simple, just follow these tricks…

Colors
The easiest way to transition your wardrobe from season to season is by changing up the colors you wear.  Move away from bright summer colors and start incorporating for fall tones such as beige, brown, gray, burgundy, navy, burnt orange, etc. My favorite fall colors are anything jewel toned: darker greens, orange, yellows, reds, purples and blues.

Textures

Textures can completely change an outfit. My fall favorite is suede. I own soo many suede boots and bags it’s almost funny. (This post is a perfect example of my obsession.) Try incorporating suedes and velvets into your look. ( I have my eye on this velvet bag.) Studs are also a great way to add texture to your look. I love a good studded bag like this one I picked up for summer.

Patterns

Patterns are another great way to signal that it’s fall. Especially items like plaid wraps and jackets. I am dying for a plaid coat and literally fell off my chair when I saw this windowpane cape. I mean!? You can also invest in a houndstooth scarf like this one.

Hats

I love a good newsboy or fedora hat for fall. It’s a simple accessory that can add a big impact. You can even add a broach like I did here to spice your look up a bit.

Boots

Nothing says fall more than a nice pair of boots. But if the weather is not quite cold enough to wear a pair of tall leather boots, then stick with a pair of booties or even open-toe booties like these ones I’ve been wearing nonstop!

I hope these on how to how to transition your wardrobe for fall help! Bring on the fall style and cannot wait to show you more fall looks I’ve styled!
