Christmas in Charleston is truly a magical site to see. 🎄✨ One of my wishes every year is to see snow and @thecharlestonplace made that happen.❄️

I felt like a kid again as it began and Lady (never having seen snow before) didn’t know how to react. 🤣

I may not have any furniture yet at my new house, but…

I DID IT. I made my dream some true…and I bought a house in Charleston. 🏡

Why South Carolina?
I’ve always wanted to live in the South. @southernlivingmag has always been my escape and the South’s slower pace of life is what I knew I needed after 18 years in Los Angeles.

Years ago, I visited SC for the first time fell in love with this beautiful state. I promised myself that someday I would buy a house here.

Well, two (failed) relationships later, I finally decided to make my dream come true. I rented out my house in Los Angeles, packed up my car, and drove 9 days across the country-just me and my dog. 🐶 🚗

I had never been to Charleston before the day I arrived, but I knew I would love it. The history, the culture and the charm of this city has always called to me.

After only three days in Charleston, I put an offer in on a property in West Ashley. My offer was accepted two days later and we opened escrow!

What a lot of people don’t know is that six months ago I was struggling with almost $80,000 worth of debt, engaged, out of control eczema from stress and allergies, battling depression, and feeling completely stuck. At one point, I barely had enough money in my bank account to buy groceries.

This wasn’t just a home purchase, this was a testament to self love, hard work, patience, and belief in oneself to be able to change your life if you just push through.

Thank you to everyone who stood by me, supported me, listened, and gave me the encouragement to keep following my dreams. To my sister @kellyyazdi who pushed me to follow my dTo @sarahdweaver + everyone in her mentorship program for incredible support. To @makinmovesonmatcha for being on this wild ride of real estate investing together. To my agent @jtrain30 for being the best and introducing me to my lender @kayce_kac who made it all work!

Sure, my first house in Charleston may need a little updating, but to me, it’s a blank canvas for creation and a stepping stone in building my real estate portfolio to retire in 10 years.

This is my first year not hosting Thanksgiving in nearly 8 years and it feels strange to not be checking the oven every hour or setting up for my guests to arrive.

So in honor of my Dad’s favorite holiday- a day with good food, blessings, family and friends… here are photos from past years and the table settings I love to create.
