Chinoiserie home decor (pronounced sheen·waa·zr·ee) is one of my favorite decorating elements. You may recognize it better by its other term “ginger jar.” Chinoiserie is a French word and comes from the term: the imitation or evocation of Chinese motifs and techniques in Western art, furniture, and architecture, especially in the 18th century.
