Fun and Easy Halloween Table Decor Ideas

On Monday my friends and I put together a last-minute dinner date at my house to catch up. Being that it’s the month of October and I love a good dinner party, I decided to put together a fun and easy Halloween table decor ideas.  It was such a hit and easy to create that I wanted to share my Halloween decorating tips with all of you.

I started off by taking inventory of the Halloween related items I already had which included a few pumpkins, string lights, candy corn and generally just lots of candy thanks to my sweet tooth.

I headed off to Home Goods to pick up a few extra things. I must say, for it being a Monday, I was quite surprised just how busy the store was. Does apparently everyone work from home on Mondays? It’s always a good idea to go to a home decor store with some kind of inspiration in mind.

My Halloween Pinterest board came in useful to get a few decorating ideas. One idea I loved were these little DIY ghosts I made with just two pieces of tissue wrapped around a sucker with a little bow.

These silver spider napkin rings by Nicole Miller Home collection were another fabulous find ($12 at Home Goods.)

When creating a tablescape, have a color scheme of at least three and at most four colors. The colors for this tablescape were gold, black and white to match my gold and white dishware options at home.  Purple could have been a great option, too.

I wanted the tablescape to be the most elegant Halloween version possible instead of cheesy kids themed party. This shifted my attention to more grown-up items such as napkin holders, tapered candles, and lace table clothes.  I had no choice but to go to Home Goods with an open mind to see what I would find. Luckily there were plenty of grown-up Halloween dining decor options from these fun spider napkin-holders to this spider-web lace tablecloth.

These skull and bone napkins were a lucky find. Simple checkered napkins or even a striped version would do. The best find of the entire day were these little ghost cocktail napkins for $3.

I thought the tall black tapered candles were a nice Halloween touch. Next year I’ll get the black taper candle holders to match. Also, love these two-tone black glass candles.

In total, I spent about $60 on Halloween decorations that day (lace table cloth, napkin rings, black striped placemats, cloth and paper napkins.)  Not bad considering I now I have decorations for years to come and the Halloween party I hope to host one day.

Next time I will pick up a few more large pumpkins and the faux spiders’ web to hang from the chandelier and painting behind the table.
