Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

How is it already Thanksgiving? Wow time is flying by this year. I’ll be spending Thanksgiving first at my sister’s and then going over to my boyfriend’s parent’s house for dinner. Let’s just say that by the end of the night, I will be in very stretchy pants and food coma before 8pm.

I remember my first Thanksgiving with my boyfriend’s family. I wanted to impress them, but not be too overdressed. My goal was to look like the girl next door. I would like to think I nailed it with decently comfortable wedges, a pencil skirt and cute wrap top. I recently wrote a store for Mode.com about what to wear to meet your boyfriend’s parents. Whether it is the first time or the hundredth time, it is always important to follow some simple guidelines with what to wear: not too much cleavage, or leg, nothing too tight, etc.

This got me thinking about what I’ll be wearing this year. I fell in love with this houndstooth skirt and decided to pair it with a cute burgundy top. Both from Express. I always bring a coat to throw over my shoulders in case it gets a bit chilly. Except here in LA where it has been 85 degrees for the past few days. NOT complaining one bit. And finally, I like to add a touch of flirt with the “nudist” heel by Stuart Weitzman. It’s sexy without trying to hard. 😉
