A good daily skin care routine is one of the best things you can do for yourself. It nourishes the largest organ (your skin) and makes going out of the house without makeup on a lot less scary.  I’ve seen such a difference in my skin lately since I’ve committed to a nourishing daily skincare routine so I wanted to share which products I’ve been using. I’ve also told a few people this week how old I am and they didn’t believe me. That is always a good feeling and I attribute great daily skincare to part of that!

Tip:  I suffer from dry, sensitive skin and eczema so I am very particular about the products I apply to my skin; especially my face.  One of my tricks to maintaining the most moisture I can in my skin is to apply everything the moment I step out of the shower. I gently pat my face with a towel, start with my eye cream first, then face, then the body.

For my eyes, I’ve been using the VII Skin Code T2 Oxygen Eye Cream O3.0 which is super moisturizing, absorbs quickly, and helps minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles.  It also facilitates the healing and regeneration of damaged skin cells near the eyes. This cream protects the skin and fades away the first visible signs of aging. I place a bit on my finger and gently pat around my eye area. (Pat instead of rub: the skin around your eye is the thinnest and therefore required extra sensitive care.)

Next, I apply 4-5 drops of the Votary Super Seed Facial Oil all over my face, neck, and décolletage area. This oil is fragrance-free and works to redress the skin’s delicate balance and moisture levels.  It’s made up of 21 different super seed oils and quickly absorbs into the skin. It is great for rehydrating, nourishing and restoring dry, damaged and aging skin.

Key Benefits of this oil include:

  • Promotes anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and anti-irritation properties
  • Recommended for sensitive and aging skin
  • Suitable for hormonal skin undergoing changes
  • Addresses skin issues that accompany aging
  • Works to rehydrate, soothe and plump aging skin

After my oil, I apply a serum. I swear by serums!! My skin needs the extra layer of moisture.  The TATA HARPER Resurfacing Serum is my new favorite.  It transforms dullness with a combination of AHAs and BHAs that slough off dead skin cells to give you a healthy-looking glow. It also contains powerful antioxidants that help fight the effects of free radicals that can diminish your glow and make you look older than you are. Yeah, no thank you.

After applying an oil and a serum, the type of facial moisturizer depends on the time of day. If I am going out that day and need an SPF, I use this moisturizer by Dermalogica (SPF 50!!) If it’s night time, I usually like to sleep in a moisturizing mask such as this one.

After I’ve applied my facial creams, I apply the L’Occitane Almond Milk Concentrate all over my body. It is literally “a body cream that melts into the skin” comprised of almond milk and oil, which helps to moisturize and soften. I massage it into my hands, feet and anywhere else that needs extra hydration. Not to mention it smells amazing!

Last, but certainly not least, I love to apply a light layer of diptyque’s Satin Oil to both my hair and skin. It is a dry oil, non-greasy, and smells divine.  I lightly spray it on my skin in the morning or evening for a satiny smooth feeling. Sometimes I will use it in conjunction with lotion or just on it’s own.  On my hair, I like to spray the Satin Oil on my hands and lightly use my fingers to comb through my strands to help repair, nourish, soften and shine.

A word about diet: I have noticed a huge difference in my skin when I pay close attention to my diet. Less sugar, caffeine, dairy, and gluten seems to help keep my skin moisture level more balanced. So if you’ve been having issues with dry, irritated and/or flaky skin like I have in the past, make a few changes to your diet for a few weeks and see what happens. I’d also recommend reading the book “Body Love” to give you tips on how to improve your eating habits. Great skincare products like the ones I mentioned above can do wonders for your skin, especially when paired with a healthy diet! 😉

    1. Hi Amanda! I know I have been so bad at sitting down to finish editing it. (Editing video is a bit intimidating to me!) Thank you for pushing me to get it done. I’ll make it my goal to edit and post it this week! xoxo, Laura
