Step 1: I like to begin by taking inventory of all the items I have available on my bar cart and any items I would like to add. What drinks would I like to serve, and do I have the appropriate glasses and serving dishes for those items? One fun trick is to put your red wine in a wine decanter. You can see my ZGalleriedecanter in the back right corner of my bar cart.

Step 2: It’s always fun to have a signature drink pre-mixed for your guests. The drink you see here is a simple cranberry vodka with a touch of champagne garnished with gold sugar around the rim and cranberries across the top via a toothpick.
I also like to have other drink options available for my guests so they know that they have options. You can even create a little chalkboard menu listing the options you have available. Make sure to also have non-alcoholic drinks and mixers available as well. I placed cranberry juice in the glass container next to the wine options.

Step 3: A string of lights is a super easy and inexpensive way to dress up your beverage area. I picked up these gold gold string lights in the dollar section at Target. Extra Christmas tree lights work well, too. I cut off a small branch from the tree and laid it on a marble platter for a festive touch. I also like to use small items such as ornaments and pine cones to decorate.

Step 4: Always make sure you have a variety of glass options available based on what you’re serving. I added a few hooks to the bottom of my bar cart to hang a few copper glasses I picked up from Target. I also placed a few extra gold wine glasses from Z Gallerie on the bottom of the cart.

These of course depend on the drinks you will be serving. One sweet addition is to put out holiday-themed candy. My personal favorite are these candy cane Hershey kisses.
