Last month I set sail to Catalina with my favorite sunless tanning brand Vita Liberata. I was joined by a group of fabulous ladies (and gents) as we spent the day getting tan and enjoying a nice lunch on Catalina Island- one of my favorite places in the world.

Maybe you noticed, maybe you haven’t, but my skin is quite fair. I don’t like to spend too much time in the sun, but I also like to be tan. It’s a never ending problem. My solution: sunless tanning. I’ve tried a few brands over the years, but my favorite by far is Vita Liberata. It’s not just one product of theirs that has my heart, but actually their entire product line. (I featured their tanning mousse in my favorite beauty products video last summer.)

Now this is not a sponsored post. I genuinely love this brand and have tried all of their products.  Our day en route to Catalina started off getting Ten Minute Tan treatments – Vita’s newest product launch. Literally you put the product on, wait ten minutes, wash it off and then you have a nice even tan develop over the next few hours.

After lunch at the Descansco Beach Club (I’ll be back here in September for the Catalina Wine Mixer!!), we got back on the boat and got full overBody Blur treatments before our photoshoots with Mr. Leo Deveney. The photos you see in this post were shot by him. Thanks Leo! Here is a bit more about my favorite products…

pHenomenal Tinted Tan Mousse

This is my go-to tanning mousse. I exfoliate and shave in the shower. Dry off completely, apply a small amount of lotion to my knees, elbows, hands, and feet. Then use the tanning mitt to apply the mousse all over. The mousse is tinted so you can see if you missed any spots. I let it dry for about ten minutes and then get into loose clothing, go to sleep, wake up, rinse off the product and apply lotion. If I want a deeper tan I’ll do this two nights in a row. The product does come off on bed sheets and clothing, but it doesn’t stain them. I just invested in some beige bed sheets and wear darker clothing to bed. All of this is totally worth the fabulous tan you’re going to have for the next few days (and no wrinkles from sun damage!)

Body Blur

This product is hands down one of my favorites.  It gives you an instant tan and makes your skin look flawless. If Vita Liberata has a giveaway for a lifetime supply of Body Blur I am entering that contest 1000 times! This stuff is AMAZING. I wore it to a party over the weekend and felt like a goddess. **Just a note, I believe they sell this product in different shades for different skin tones. I’ll try to find out where these are sold for you all. I wore this Body Blur this weekend and was able to pull if off.**

Fabulous Self Tanning Gradual Lotion

This is a product I use almost daily. It gives my skin a nice even glow. Sometimes I’ll apply it on top of my tanning mousse if my skin needs a bit more hydration. The color never comes in too strong or streaky. Just a nice even finish. Find it here.

Tanning Mitt

When applying any kind of tanning cream or mousse it goes on so much more evenly when you use a tanning mitt! I won’t even both applying tanning mousse without one because that is how much a difference it makes in the end. I wash my mitt after each use with a little dish soap to help it last longer.

Bronzer

I use this self tanning bronzer and kabuki brush like I would any normal bronzer. The difference is that it leaves behind a nice glow after you wash it off. The product is pretty dense so you don’t need to use that much to get your desired effect. And yes, the brush comes with the set 😉 I apply it on the hallows of my cheek bones, along the hair line and on my chest for some contouring.

Self Tanning Serum

I use their Self Tanning Serum daily. Not only is it great for dry skin under my moisturizer, but it also helps keep my face as tan as the rest of my body. Plus, it does not smell weird at all. I apply it as soon as I get out of the shower while my skin is still damp all over my face (not on the eyes) and neck.
