Las Vegas Travel Guide

This past weekend I’ve been in Las Vegas for a girls trip. It was great to get out of LA for a bit and spend some quality girl time with Kier and Elizabeth.  Las Vegas isn’t my normal getaway spot.  However, when your best friend lives here, you make it a point to go.  I’ve been craving some traveling lately anyway and it was a great excuse to skip town for a weekend. We got to try a ton of great places so I thought I’d share my recommendations for the best places to visit in Las Vegas.

Thanks for the warm welcome Las Vegas.

We started off the trip at the opening of Daylight Beach Club at the Mandalay Bay. It was so nice to lay poolside with a cold drink in hand. Thanks to the man, Mark Kim, for the great hospitality.

Before we went out for the night, the girls decided to put 22 inch Bellami clip-in extensions in my hair. It was quite a change for me, but fun for a night out. I felt like a Persian Princess and all that hair definitely helped keep me warm in the cooler Vegas weather. The dress is from Lulu*s ages ago.

Later that night we went to The Clique at the Cosmopolitan. Our Mixologist, Antony, was like a little chemist behind his mixing cart with flames and fumes coming out of the drinks we was making. Definitely an experience to remember. The girls had been raving about the deep fried Oreos all day. I didn’t quite understand until I tried one. OMG. I like Oreos enough. It’s not the cookie in the cookie jar I would immediately grab for. But these things…. I’m almost speechless. They were SO DELICOIUS and worth a trip to The Clique just to try one. They also spritz lemon on the edamame which makes it all the more amazing. Why did I never think to do that? Thanks so much to Abegail, Ian, Gretchen and Antony for a great experience.

After dinner we headed to the one year anniversary of Omnia. A massive nightclub at Ceasers Palace. The interior is set up like a gorgeous opera house with balconies overlooking the main floor. A gigantic spiral chandelier suspenses from the ceiling and is constantly changing shape. It’s mesmerizing to watch. When Calvin Harris came on stage the crowd just erupted. It was a great energy all around.

Saturday we had to drop Liz off at the airport and spent most the day recovering and blogging.  We finally gathered ourselves and our energy for another night out. We had dinner at Javier’s at the Aria. The drinks were great, the food was okay, next time I’d order something other than the taco dinner entree. Afterwards we hit the gambling floor.  Kier tried to explain to me how to play Craps. I think I kind of get it, but I am not ready to put my money down on the table just yet.  Besides, I’d rather buy shoes than gamble anyway. It was fun to watch her win, though.

After that we met up with a few Vegas friends and went backstage at XS to see David Guetta perform. How lucky was I to see two of my favorite DJ’s live in one weekend?! This is Kier’s favorite night club and I can see why. The entire club is set up like an ampitheather with half of it outside by the pool and the other half inside.

Sunday we started the day with brunch at STK. Literally everything was delicious and I would recommend everything we tried on the menu…too many items to remember. Next we hit the Wet Republic, a pool party at the MGM. My head cold that I have been fighting hit me hard while we were there so I took it easy with some lounging and lots of hydrating. Definitely a cool place to spend your day at though.  Even on a Sunsay when most of the Vegas crowd heads back home.

For dinner, Kier and I at ate Giada’s and the photo below was the view from our table. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot. We tried the caprese salad, bacon wrapped dates, and meatballs. I’ve really felt spoiled with how delicious all the food has been at all the places we’ve tried.

I leave back to Los Angeles tonight. Kier and I are going to try and be very productive today with a few blog photo shoots and some vintage shopping. I am hoping to find a home decor item to take with me as a souvenir to remember this trip.

Thanks for reading and to all the people who made our weekend amazing!
