Laura Lily Fashion Blogger - Los Angeles, California blogs about fashion, beauty, home decor, lifestyle and travel, wearing a floral ASOS dress photographed by Tony Oberstar
Welcome to the wonderful world of Laura Lily ™, a Los Angeles based fashion, travel, and lifestyle blog.  I started this blog in March of 2012 to share my passions with the world and inspire women to dress their best for every occasion. Since then, Laura Lily has grown from a personal style blog to now incorporate travel guides, home decor inspiration, how to-DIY projects and beauty product reviews!

A little about me… I am the kind of woman that will always be over-dressed rather than under-dressed. I believe that fashion is wearable art because it can express who you are and how you are feeling without having to speak a word. Again, welcome to my world. I hope it inspires you to live your dreams.

Why did you decide to start a fashion blog?
I originally thought about writing a book on how to dress well on a budget with shopping guides. Then I started following other fashion bloggers and though it looked really fun to post new style ideas and attend exciting fashion events so voila! My blog was born March 2012.

Is blogging your full-time job?
Yes! I left my finance job in April this year to pursue my blog full-time and it is a dream come true!!! I am sharing the highs and lows of working for myself on my “Real Talk” YouTube series.

Who are your favorite designers?
BCBGMaxAzria, Milly by Michelle, and anyone Kate Middleton wears (Jenny Packham, Alexander McQueen, etc.) Express, Nordstrom and Asos are my favorite retailers to shop.

Any style icons?
Kate Middleton- she is just such a classy, well dressed lady. Blake Lively is my favorite celebrity style icon. She knows her body and how to be sexy without over doing it.

What is your favorite part about fashion blogging?
Meeting incredible people who inspire me to challenge myself to be a better business owner and creative. Over the years a few of these people have become some of my closest friends. I now cannot visualize my life without them in it.

What are you looking forward to next?
Expanding the travel and home decor sections of this blog while continuing to grow as a digital influencer and working with brands I love.

What is your background?
Born and raised in Minnesota, moved to Los Angeles when I was a senior in high school, graduated from UCLA and have lived in LA ever since.  I am half Persian and half Swedish so I got lucky being as tall as I am- but funny story- at 5′ 9″ I am the shortest one in my family.

What are some unique things your readers might like to know?
I have a horse, an Arabian named Zcinny (Zin-knee) and I have had him for 13 years. He is a darling.

What kind of camera do you use?
My personal camera is a Canon 5D Mark II with an 85mm 1.8 lens. My photographers use a Canon 5D Mark III with a variety of lens (normally 50mm 1.8 lens.) I edit my photos using Camera Raw, Photoshop and various iphone apps (Facetune and Instagram.)

Any other questions I should add here please let me know! Leave a comment or send me an email:

  1. So glad I found your blog yesterday. I absolutely adore it. I especially appreciate your money saving savvy. I can appreciate spending my (hard earned) money on a splurge item once in a while, but if i can get the same item for less…that only allows me to shop longer and for MOOOORE stuff! Which brings me to my question:

There is a splurge item I’ve been obsessing about, Prada Baroque shades. They WILL be mine. I’m ready to slap down the $290 at the Nordstroms counter, but I wanted to see if you had any thoughts/comments on purchasing luxury items (almost $300 for a pair of shades is a luxury item in my book) on discount websites. For instance buying on eBay or even consignment stores selling “gently used” or “previously loved” merchandise.

What are your thoughts? Do you have any you recommend?

    1. Hi Lucimar,

I make sure to research the buyer on Ebay carefully as well as the merchandise. I look up ways to spot a fake item and if the price is too good to be true, it probably is. Ebay does have a buyer’s protection policy if you are sold a fake item, however this can be a headache, so just make sure to research and know what to look for in designer items.

Thanks for reading and best of luck!
