This past weekend Brian and I made a little getaway to Palm Springs for his best friends’s wedding. I have been wanting to take a trip to the desert for months so finally getting to go a mist all the chaos of renovations at the condo was quite a treat. We stayed at the Avalon Palm Springs, a boutique hotel nestled just a few blocks from the main road. I loved all the photogenic spots of this hotel and the serene surroundings. While Brian took care of Best Man duties, I had the chance to lounge around at the pool and catch up on some much needed me time. One big highlight was ordering room service, a guilty little pleasure that I take advantage of every so often. If you ever have the chance to order their french toast- I highly recommend it! I didn’t even both to put any syrup on it because the jam they serve it with is so good!
For the rehearsal dinner, I pulled out my favorite Milly dress that I still love as much as the day I first laid eyes on it. I figured the bright colors and parrot print were perfect for the occasion. For the wedding the next day, I wore a black maxi dress by Fevrie that you’ve seen here before on the blog. The fabric on this dress is very light weight and airy so it was not as hot as one might think. For jewelry, I wore big statement earrings and a fun cocktail ring. And for makeup I decided to do a bit of a shimmer smokey eye and my signature red lipstick. To finish off the look, I wore my hair up in an elegant bun to show off the open-back of the dress. Plus, it was nice not having to worry about what my hair looked like after a night of dancing.
Brendan and Rocio’s wedding took place at the O’Donnell House. A historic landmark that overlooks the entire city of Palm Springs. It was a breathtaking view for a very special ceremony. Rocio looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown and watching these two tie the knot is something I wouldn’t have missed for the world. So happy to have been part of their special day.
